Would it work?
My dad had an idea for setting up a forum, have a motel theme, check in, meet in the bar, check out etc. It will basically be a forum where people just let out any frustration they have, divorce, stress, girlfriends/boyfriends etc, not anyone analysing what you say, or giving it advice, just letting it out and talking about it.
I just wanted some advice before we set this up
(Also, got any idea for revenue, advertising or affiliation etc?)
Thanks

I think it is habbohotel.com.
But this one sounds like a lot different. Still, I think there are one or two forums on that topic out there. But your topic seems to be rather negative. It won't be a bright and happy place for sure.
Also, there aren't much forms of revenue from what I can see, unless you can manage a large-ish community. Advertising, and maybe affiliate programs for some products (Can't think of any, really) related to your forums. But it won't be a large money maker from what I can see.
If you know a few people who might be interested in joining, I say go for it.

when you have a theme, you can try to startup and see if it works.
