can anyone help, Im trying to edit my php.ini file.

Its installed on a RAQ4, i login via telnet as a regular user and the SU upto root.

I have located the php.ini file and try to edit it.

i can open and modify and when i come to save it, I get a message access denied.

Do I need to stop the httpd server running first?

    Thanks in advance

Make SURE that you are under root.

    Type in:

vi php.ini (probably already did that though)

Edit the file, and hit [ESC] and type in :wq! and that should save the file.

Maybe you already did that though?
