Well, I just saw an amazing 225 guest on the forums today. Yikes!

Someone better spill what they did - I'd love to know how to get this sort of traffic to a forum :P

Rangersfan helped develop vBulletin and he is correct to a point.
Traffic is higher meaning we have more page views and more posts and more sessions. However of those 500+ guest sessions only about 80 of them are valid. There was another problem that I am trying to track down and I have removed some code that would have prevented the large guest numbers and made them more accurate.
I was discussing this with James (the JamesUS one) on ICQ, and I was pretty sure it was a bug. Think rationally:
EchoDev might bring in some more guests, BUT do you think a site like EchoDev gets up to 9 times more visiotrs than SitePoint (normally there are 50 guests. 50x9=450+50=500)
I also saw, although there were 500 guests, nobody signed up for 3 hours. My reasoning
But I have seen there are more members online lately, as well as a bit more guests than usual (before the vB2 switch)

Yea I almost said the same. I doubt that echoweb gets more visitors and guests than sitepoint...in fact, I am sort of curious how much traffic they get and if its a wise buy for sitepoint...I still haven't see a single echoweb user besides the owner...Originally posted by CJ
