    Mozilla does not recognize links in absolutely positioned layers?

    I have an HTML layout containing several nested DIVs.

    I have noticed that when I position absolutely a DIV child of a relatively positionned DIV, Mozilla FireFox does not recognize the links.

    Example:

    <div id="rp">
    Some text
    <div id="ap"><a href="url">text</a>
    </div>

    If rp is "position: relative" and ap is "positon: absolute", the link will not work in FireFox, why?

    Hi,

    It does work perfectly The code you gave above worked without problems.
    Code:
    <style type="text/css">
    #rp {position:relative;}
    #ap {position:absolute;left:20px;top:20px;}
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="rp">
    Some text
    <div id="ap"><a href="url">text</a>
    </div>
    </div>
    There is probably some other element on your page that is on top of the link so you need to make sure that z-indexes are set accordingly.

    I would need to see you page to give a definitive answer but there is no problem with firefox and links (AFAIK) in absolutely positioned elements.

    I solved the problem.

    Some layers were overlapping and links of layers "overlapped" were not working in FireFox, although the worked fine in IE.

    I've restructured the web and now it works with both browsers, although it is not exactly as intended :-(
