to add on to the page above,
you can also use title="" within your anchor tags to show a little description when the mouse moves over. much like the alt="" in images.
its supported in IE and Mozilla/Netscape 6 only though. Netscpae 4 doens't support it.
don't really undertsand your question, but there's a whole lot of functions with anchor links.
you cna create styles etc. for such tags using css too.
then again, you might want to include that all the onmouseover, onclick javascript functions also work within there.
