Hi, I'm the owner of Free4all.nu and I'm looking for a script that will rotate banner ads and be able to log stats and automatically expire after a period of time, clicks or impressions.
The script must not need SSI and MySql, as my server deal with neither. My priority is to install a easy to install script, but a remotely hosted one would be fine. Please give comments and help.

    Hello,

Check out "Bannermaster" by "iWeb". It can be installed via FTP from their site.

"AdCycle" is also suppose to be good but I am having trouble installing it.

    Hope this helps.

I had used the banner rotater from iweb and it screws up.
I use it on my site and it sometimes doesn't tally. It works fine at first, but the banners does not tally with the links and there are lots of broken images everytime. I am also pretty sure I installed correctly.

If you are able to run a perl script, Web Adverts is a good choice and covers the main requirements you mentioned.

    You can find it here:

I believe most hosts allow CGI/Perl, so webadvert would be a good choice for you even though its interface is not very user-friendly.

It only uses flat text files (as opposed to MySQL) and you have a choice of enabling SSI or not.

I was looking for the same thing a week ago. After reading several boards I decided on Adcycle. However, being real new to all this I figured out it would be too dificult for me to set up on my own right now.

I saw a post, here I think, about ad-rotator.com. It's a hosted solution so no script work for me! I set up an account, and had banners running on my site in less than an hour. And...it's FREE! They use 10% of the banners, and have a system set up to credit you for referals. Refer 1 person to their service and their banners are reduced to 5%.

You can setup ad groups, to only display certain banners on certain pages, set "weight" of particular banners to adjust frequency of display, and if I recall correctly you can start and stop banners by date. They also have a pretty nice stats page showing exposures and click thru's.

    http://ad-rotator.com
It did what I needed it to do, real quick and easy.

I'm also looking for a free banner-ad rotator, preferably Perl, SSI enables, no SQL database, and have support for rich media banners. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks.

Anyone recomment a greap banner ad serving solution for PHP / MySQL.

    CGI is not an option...

Currently, I'm using adserver, and the problem i find is that if the impression bought runs out, it keeps showing the ad.

    So anyone???

Just to clarify, JohnAz just said these without any "script" from me

Glad you like it. The feature to activate or deactivate at any date is in our TO-DO list. So you'll see it very soon.

petesmc, you may like to investigate dotBanner.

This system claims to be able to handle a huge load, even on older servers, and I've heard many positive reports about the software, but haven't used it personally.

I work for dkAds which is powered by Adtention. Other users are very happy with it. It's under $100 and has a lot of features. The site is: www.refsoft.com

As a quick note, I am affiliated with Refsoft, but I do not profit from any sales of Adtention.

I really like Adtention by Refsoft.
It should be noted at this stage that Russ (aka webman1000) is actually a RefSoft employee or associate, so his recommendation is rather biased.

Still, since this thread was started in February, chances are that FreebieGuy has already found a suitable ad serving system by now.

I am sorry about the clarity of my recommendation. I am affiliated with dkAds which is powered by Adtention. It was only meant as a recommendation. Sorry about the confusion.

    Freebie guy,

This CGI resource directory has all the scripts you would ever need and the best ones are most likely always FREE. The voting system tells all. Thank me later
