i'm actually building a site (for teens). The followings will be the content of the site

    Polls
    Lottery
    Comics
    Online Games
    Weather
    Cooking
    Health
    E-mail
    Community
    Chat
    Movies
    Music (news, charts,..)
    Games (reviews)
    News
    Jokes
    YOUR stories
    Online message
Instant Message ( u can send messages among people who have sign up for the instant messager

. I've thought that for teens to come back more often to the site, i should create a sign-up way.I mean they sign up and they can have many other contents! but WHAT ????. I don't think that i should tell them to sign-up to access all these contents. Or maybe they can access a small amount of content if they'r not sign-up.U understand ? . What contents should i put in the sign-up page?? and what in the normal page ????. Why would teens sign-up ??? n exemple site would be appreciated! !.

    Brian

    Thanx !

http://www.bolt.com/ could be a good example. maybe have some newsletters informing your members of updates... of course only members should be able to subscribe.

Brian, to be honest, it will be hard to make just a "teen site". Why? Because teens like different things... some may like games and entertainment, some may be computer programmers and journalists. What I'm trying to say is that there is such a wide range of interests in teens, that it will be hard to have a general "teen site". Also, how do you plan to get content for all of those categories? It won't be easy. I'm not trying to scare you, just being realistic.

I think that online games or videogame reviews are pretty popular, but you'll have a good amount of sites as competition!

If you have a games specialised content, you're <<generally>> restricting girls.

so maybe you can seperate your site into 2 general categories. guys and gals.

next of coz, you need a gal to add content =) can't be you. lol

If you do decide to separate your site into gender based sections (which somehow I don't think will work), make sure that you think of the design as bascially you will be dealing with two separate websites!

I'm an avid videogame player, and I'm a female, so I dont think games-related sites try to exclude me
