    Space between wrapped li lines??

    Hi there,

    Who can tell me how it is possible that in one list element that is actually a wrapped line of text it occurs that each line has a different line height as appearing in my browser (IE6). Please have a look at the attached picture!

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Marcel

    ---------------

    CSS part:

    #containerrechts ul {
    margin: 0; /*removes indent IE and Opera*/
    padding: 0; /*removes indent Mozilla and NN7*/
    line-height: 90%;
    }

    #containerrechts li {
    list-style-type: disc;
    list-style-position: inside;
    padding-left: 4px;
    }

    #containerrechts a {
    text-decoration: none;
    font-size: 0.7em;
    color: #000;
    }

    Hi

    I've tried a number of times to attach an image to my posts, without luck. Seems the same for you.

    Make a sample url with it on, upload it to your server and post the url instead.

    Posting long bits of code is a pain to look at and an example is much better, even if you put it in your ISP user homepages area.

    Ah, that explains a lot

    It's a bmp! Wow, a jpg would have been much smaller!

    I see what you mean though.

    If you can post a sample html file (with doctype) that shows the problem so we can play with it, for example:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN"
       "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd">
    <html xml:lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <title>New document</title>
    <link rel="Stylesheet" href="" type="text/css" media="All" />
    <style type="text/css">
    all your style here, inc body etc
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    sample list etc here

    </body>
    </html>

    HI Zeeforel,

    It's hard to tell from that small piece of code and the picture what's really going on.

    We need to see the html as well and maybe a bit more code to get an idea of what's going on. As trevor mentioned a link would be good.

    Line-height can be quite complicated and if you are changing the font-size in the anchor and the anchor is in the list then this will have a bearing on the appearance of the list.

    Line-height defines the minimum size of a line and not the absolute value and baselines of text can wind up being pushed further apart than the value of line-height (from eric meyers definitive guide).

    Tried cleaning up a bit: it worked!

    Thank you all for replying!

    Actually I have it working correctly now. Gave UL left margin of 15px in stead of 0 and reset the font size in the LI selector. Do not what it was exacly but at least is works now!

    #containerrechts ul {
    margin-left: 15px; /* 0 would removes indent IE and Opera*/
    line-height: 100%;
    }

    #containerrechts li {
    font-size: 0.8em;
    list-style-type: disc;
    padding-left: 0px; /*pushes the text away from the bullet */
    margin-top: 5px;
    }
