    Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me by explaining what CREATE INDEX does, what are the syntax? I went through mySQL manual but a bit unsure how to use it.

If you do know any tips to improve SQL queries, please post it here.

How to check mySQL to see if its support Transaction or not, can I use <? phpinfo() ?> to check it? How do you know it's there.

    Regards,
    KT

Indexing is about tweeking your databse for performance. If they are used correctly they can help speed up your most frequent queries. If they are used incorrectly they will slow down your inserts, updates and deletes! For an article about the how and why of indexing see:

I don't believe that MySQL supports transactions (yet!).
