    Probably very simple but
    How do you make drop down menus like the ones used on the Microsoft homepage? i.e the ones for home, events, subscribe,about Microsoft, etc.

    Thanks in advance

    NONO....
    Nothing is simple when you relate to such menus..
    They are otherwise known as DHTML Drop-Down Menus
    Notice the DHTML >> Dynamic HTML

    Its a huge diffference from the relatively easy form selection pull-down menu
    <select>
    <option>
    </select>

    There are several incarnations of those menus, majority with less features.
    Check out http://dynamicdrive.com/ for several scripts.

    If you want to aviod the hassle of configuring the script, and the limited options available.

    Try DHTML Menu Builder by xFX JumpStart ( Goosh..how many times have you guys seen me recommend this? )
    Its a windows application with an excellent, easy GUI.
    You can add images, align text, set font styles, use text display or image display, animating the menus ( like those microsoft occie menus ), and more.

    I can't explain all the features as its too many.
    You don't need to configure the script. just create the menus like you do with microsoft office, or wysiwyg editors.

    setback is it costs US$65. However, if you're interested, you can get it at US$50, via my site ( I'm an official reseller of xFX JumpStart's dhtml menu builder ).

    view my review at: http://nortiq.com/reviews/review.php?id=dmb

    or visit the developer's site and demo the menus marvel at the ultimate creation of xfx jumpstart. http://software.xfx.net

    NOTE: I don't work or receive commission from xfx jumpstart for all these promoting..ahahz...

    Hi,

    You can use flash, dreamweaver or fireworks to build such menus. Of course you must have some knowlege of these tools. The good thing is that as you learn how to make a simple drop down menu in flash for example, you'll be able to do a lot of other things.(and much more sofisticated and animated ones)

    You can find a dozen or so dhtml to choose from here:

    http://www.simplythebest.net/info/dhtml_menus.html

    There not the easiest to set up. But the instructions are laid out nicely at the above link.
