how to add one specific apache module ?

The server that i'm currently using had everything pre-installed , including apache/php . I do most of the managing of the server through web interfaces like whm and cpanel. So I'm not very familiar with all the installation and configuration processes that are involved with a linux server.

But now I need to use a specific apache module (mod_expires ) for my site, and as far as I can tell it isnt present/active on my current configuration, and I can not find a simple way to add it.

So my question is ... what is the best and easiest way to add 1 apache module to my server ?

In pratice they only need to uncomment a line in their httpd.conf,
unless they didn't compile that module when they installed Apache.

well, I had a look at httpd.conf and could not find any reference to that specific mod file, commented or not. I did found a list of active module files , but I doubt it would work if I just add a line with that module I want..

btw, its "my" own dedicated server, so I would rather do this myself. Its cheaper then asking the guys at the hosting center, and at least I would learn something new

so.. if there is no trace of that module.. I would need to recompile apache with all the excisting options + the new module I want ?
