Coalition Against Online Traffic Hijackers Sites EG ... Porn Sites

    Hi Everyone

I'm looking for some help ... please.

IMHO ... Porn sites are the "scum of the earth" .. their on line practises are selfish mindless animals acts. They are nothing but criminal spammers. They are scum ... trash .. parasites ... a waste of online space and so much more.

They are the "terrorists of the internet".

Its time us honest people fought back. Now here is my question.

Does anyone know if there is a "coalition of the willing" .. people who are interested in bring those sites down.

Please PM me if you have anything that may assist me in my quest.

    Kind Regards

    micmol

I think this thread should get closed. Sounds political to me.

Missing the point ... its not their content that concerns me. As someone says .. thats all about opinion.

Its their online practises .. they are spammers .. traffic hijakers ... mindless parasites. They have zero concerns for anyone else bar themseves.

Anyway I don't mind if the thread gets closed. My intention was not to have a discussion on the morality of porn sites.

As you have tried to clarify, I think the issue is "spammers" and scam artists not the nature of the content they are peddling. Unfortunately there will always be those elements of society that will use objectionable means to trick people. In time technology and new criminal laws will bring email spam under control. Technology and trade laws will in time also reduce the impact of traffic hijackers etc.

Such elements of society have existed since money was invented and probably always will exist. Society will in time adapt to bring some semblance of civility to the Internet in time as it has with older means of communication and commerce.

Why don't you worry about spammers and all the fraud that goes on online before you worry about people offering a service trying to make a buck.

I agree with all the posts..micmol has some valid points and KLB's post hits the nail on the head!

But there's something in micmol's post that doesn't seem right
    mindless parasites
and more from the first post makes one think that this is either morally or politically motivated...

I don't think a judgement like that can be passed. Post specifics not impressions. Do you know anyone who runs this type of site? Are they really scum or are they a webmaster trying to make as much out of their sites as possible just like the rest of us. Does this make some of the spam sitting in my inbox proper? NO! But as a previous post stated, there will be legislation and currently are means to stop alot of that.

Loans is also something I get lots of spam about. Actually, a very small part of the spam I get is porn-related (most likely because it's so easily word-filtered).

I always keep an eye on the online pornography business, because they tend to spearhead a lot of developments on the Internet. Affiliate programs and Popunders are just some of the things that the online porn industry was first with, and porn itself actually accelerated the popularity rise of Internet, just as they did with VHS.

I get no porn spam at all. Haven't in years. If you're careful about where you enter in your email address you'll avoid most of it. I do get spam for loans, viagra, etc...

I have no problem with pornography -- it's freedom of expression; freedom of speech. The moment you start trying to violate one group's rights to express them selves just because you don't like it, it throws the entire concept of free speech and free expression into question. That shouldn't be questioned.

Besides, I'm not very knowledgeable about porn in the first place ... but I'd like to be!

    Hello

They are the "terrorists of the internet".
Pretty harsh words for some pictures of naked men and women.

I am not from Australia but I assume your local news is trying to scare you with the fear of terrorists also, so that is why you chose to add that term in to your verbal assault.

Terrorists scare others into doing what they want.

Are you trying to scare us into doing what you want
    ?

Evil porn, maybe we should start a war in Iraq to combat it.

The Porn industry is a technology leader. Many of the pay models, advertising methods, marketing gimmicks and web technology we use today was heavily based on how the porn industry works. You could learn alot from their marketing techniques - and I don't mean spam. They even link to competing sites through affiliate programs so that even when they lose a customer, they get paid.

Don't get me wrong, some of them are as close to parasites as you can get and still be considered human. Usually, it seems to me, that these are people not in the real porn industry and just people trying to make bucks off of porn. There is a huge difference in the way they do things, though with any business your going to have shady people willing to do anything to get more money.

Trying to form a coalition against pornography sites because they are pornography sites is a political action. The first post makes no mention of spam or unsavory Internet advertising practices, it only references pornography. The only inference that one can get from the first post is that pornography needs to be stopped and the motive for that would be either political or religious.

Now, targetting spam operators which I would say 90% of them have nothing to do with Pornography is a totally different issue and maybe somewhat more valid as a topic. Sense the thread starter has decided to shift his vitriol towards another audience altogether, it shifts the entire topic from its original post. Like the others, I cannot remember when the last time I got pornographic spam. Currently it has to do with viagra, cialis, homeloans, anti-spam software (go figure), and off-shore programmers. Since that seems to be the case by consensus in this thread, the topic really has nothing to do with pornography and should be either retitled or closed to reflect that.

We have a good discussion going, it think it's stupid to close or redirect it. This is general chat. Just my opinion of course. No one ever listens to that anyway.

Ooooppps ... looks like I'm going to have to clarify a few points here.

Morality ... I have no problems with what two consenting, or in some cases one consenting adult/s does in privacy.

Now the words are in bold for a reason. IMHO ... all three have to be present to make this particular industry legitimate for me.

IMHO .. a % of porn sites do adhere to this principal ... so I have no problem with them.

However, a "desperate, radical, extremist element ( hence the "terriorist quote" ) do not. Their actions have no other motive than to hijack traffic for personal benefit & gain. They have no concerns who is veiwing what is on the sreeen.

IMHO ... my privacy is being invaded.

Now, to a very important point for me. IMHO .. this small radical element may be "leaders in the advertising methods, marketing gimmicks and web technology".

However, they are also leaders in the very negative creditablity stakes that bring down the internet as a creditably alternative to do business online.

Mass exceptance is essential ... I know this is not a new point.

However, my fear is without effective "self-regulation" ... traffic hijackers will stoop to new lows. Is your website, business or mail box next?

My mistake in my first post was to omit the term "most" ... not all porn sites.

Sorry to dissapoint some people ... this post was not politically or relgiously motivated.

This post was motivated by attempting to thwart what I see as a growing un-checked thread to the long-term creditablity of the web.

    Many kind regards

    Micmol
