    e-mails being junked

    for some reason all the e-mails i'm sending are getting junked..

    this didnt always happen but just recently all the ones i send from my domain @fronder.com are being junked..

    how exactly does htis work? do they mark a domain then those always get junked? mark the server i.p.? mark my personal computer i.p.?

    The wird thing is though.... is that i have a server... so i tried sending mail from a different domain name... once again junked.

    so this leaves me to believe that my server has been marked or my personal i.p.?

    what do you guys suggest?

    anyone know more about this than i do?

    You need to be more specific. Are your messages being blocked by spam filters being used on the other end? If so how do you know this? Have you tried sending yourself simple test messages from the server in question?

    Morning, chances are its the Server IP itself (or range). Its difficult to assertain exactly where the problem lies but it does sound like your blacklisted ....

    Its either that or your server has mail filtering on and its being junked on outbound.

    also could the fact that i did do quite a bit of sending large amounts through the bcc have any affect with this?

    If you were sending out bulk email to people who had not OPTED-IN to your mailing, you were spamming and were probably black-listed.

    To check if your server is blacklisted go to www.openrbl.org

    It searches many blacklists so you can see if it is listed.

    ah ha!

    added 2004-02-29;
    hosting http://www.arcadetown.com on 69.56.207.202; added 2002-10-17;
    spam support - listwashing, refusal to remove spammers; added 2003-06-21;
    called theplanet +1-214-782-7802 - abuse person never returned the call; added 2003-06-28;
    called theplanet +1-214-782-7802 - told them about the SBL and SPEWS listings;
    added 2002-10-17;

    but all these were added before i even bought the domain!

    how can i get off the list?!?!
    and i just found out that it's been doing this since i got the server... it's not brand new... i took it over from someone else..

    can i change the sites i.p.? will that do the trick?

    The likelyhood of being removed from that blacklist is nill. If you genuinely feel that it was not your doing (before you bought the site) then you need to change IP's as you were sold a 'dirty' IP. One thing to remember is that not all blacklists are IP based and it's possible that the domain itself will still have problems sending mail to a limited number of recipients.

    That fast? I assume you just tried sending from a different IP?

    Also are you still using the same mailserver? It's the mail server's IP that gets blacklisted. Check the IP of your outgoing SMTP server in openrbl.org.

    If your not sure of the actual IP the mailserver is using PM me a FULL mail header sent FROM your domain and I'll show you the IP in there.
