    Adding sound

    Hi all, I hope i got the right catagory here, it did say multimedia.
    Anyway, i have added a windows media file in the behaviours to play when opening the home page, but i would like the sound to play without the media options coming up on the left hand side of ie 6.
    Is there a way to play the sound without the front page opening the windows media options??

    Hope ive made myself reasonably clear here lol
    Thank you for your help.

    Just put the word HIDDEN in the embed tag for that media.

    You can also use this MS tag:

    <bgsound src="bg_music.mp3" loop=infinite>

    This tag goes in between the HEAD tags, and does not require the HIDDEN attribute.

    ok, i will come clean, i am no web designer, and managed to get the sound to play without the media box appearing, but i had a small play button where i placed the sound on the page.
    I use Dreamweaver 2004 mx so am not too clued up on html. If i have the front page up in dreamweaver could one of you be so kind as to give me a step by step? I know im being a nuisance, but its how you learn.
    Thank you for the replies so far, i know from experiance it can be a pain explaining what to you is the obvious. Images, sizing and creating i have no probs with, its just this sound file.
    This is the link to the page i want the sound on.

    Thank you again.

    hehe... guys not everyone will want to go spending tons of money on Flash just to embed a simple sound in a Web page.

    Although Flash is a viable way to go, it's not really necessary for this.

    Fear not i have done it. I have Flash, just dont want to teach it to myself. When you have to put 'hidden' in the parameters i didnt realise you had to type it LOL, thought Dreamweaver did it all.
