    Question Automatic E-mail Response

Is it possible to use PHP for having an automatic response with regards to the From: and Subject: field? For instance, someone would send a message to web@mysite.com with the subject, "job inquiry." Then only using PHP, have it automatically reply with a specific message.

How would I do that? I look at the mail() function and I don't think its capable of doing that? Or can it?

You would have to create an app to check mail, keep track of the mail it's already checked, then using mail, send out mail to the ones you have not checked. Over all, it's probably a not something that will be finished over night. You can try looking for code that is already done that checks mail and then try adapting that to what you want. Or simply look for code that does what you want, might be out there somewhere.

So in short, I cannot do that with PHP. I have to rely on creating another app.
