    Favicons Question

This is the image I want to convert into a favicon:

    http://www.freedomware.us/favicon2.gif

This is where I went to convert it:

    http://www.html-kit.com/e/favicon.cgi

And this is what it looks like on my home page:

    http://www.freedomware.us/

I tried it several times with the same results. It failed the first time, and I discovered that I hadn't properly published the image I want to convert online. So I published it again and did another conversion, then another and another. All I get is a blue background with a & symbol.

Can you recommend another freeware program that I can use?

    Thanks!

You can always just upload the gif, and if your ftp software allows you to see the extension and rename it, then go ahead and do it, it works fine.

I just created a favicon with SnIco Edit - a nice little free application. Worked just fine but it keeps coming and going in IE.
