    Hiding the Address Bar

Hi! I am trying to use javascript to hide the address bar. I CANNOT open a new window. Is there some code that can hide it?

tried the same thing myself quite a time ago. needless to say I wasn't able to. you can only fiddle with the window controls if you create a new window through javascript.

if you'd like to hide the url of a page, then better use frames(or mod_rewrite, if you are using Apache).

Ok, well what I did was that it opens a new window with all of the features, and then closes the parent.opener!

if you are really looking for opening a new window, then that's a good idea since you can control what window controls are displayed.
but have you considered the users who have JavaScript turned off?
If you consider it then frames would be a better solution, unless your server is Apache, then you can do mod_rewrite & nothing beats it.

Well the popup has frames, I'm not trying to mask the URL, but hide the address bar. It has 2 frames, one with content and one with an address bar (made on an asp page) and I didn't want an address bar so they didn't get mixed up on which one to use. I have a detection for javascript too!
