It IS very simple!
Simply go here:
http://proforma.real.com/rn/tools/pr...rc=rpa_creator,prdcr_010501b
And download the free Real Producer Basic, there is a plus, but the basic is free, and will do a great job.
Now download it and install, then follow the instructions to create your streaming audio file. Record. It will save as whateveryouchoose.rm
Now it's to NotePad!
Open a new document, and type a one liner, the FULL URL to where you're going to place that *.rm file. Like this:
Now save this file as whatiwanttolinkto.ram
Don't Forget The *.ram extention.!
Now create a webpage.
There is no need to wory about use the target="blank" it auto does it.Code:<html> <head> <title>My Streaming Audio</title> </head> <body> <a href="http://mydomain.com/audio/whatiamlinkingto.ram">Listen TO My Streaming Audio!</a> </body> </html>
This should do it for you.
God Bless, let us know if this doesn't answer, or you need some pointers, I was very breif.
God Bless

While streaming looks good (when it works) it can be a pain. Most people have a media player as part of their OS so you can also just download the .wav file to their browser and run it locally. Not as slick as streaming but more reliable.
Also, you can make a Flash file with the wav as the sound. Most people also have Flash in their browsers. I know some music sites that do this.

Most people have Winamp and it will stream in Audio files. Most people with Winamp use it for MP3, so use Mp3 and a mojority of audio players will stream it in.

Yes... but who feels like downloading a big audio file? If you can present it to them in streaming, they can listen to it right away. I agree... if it's short, make it MP3 if it's longer than 3-5 minutes... make it stream.

There's actually an article on WebmasterBase.com on how to produce RealAudio streams at no-cost.

And this is it : http://www.webmasterbase.com/article.php?aid=26
The other option is to create ASF audio files. Requires MediaPlayer 6.4 or better. If you make WMV/WMA files you need MediaPlayer 7. You can get tools for creating asf files from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/
