is there a browser that doesn't support the base href tag? Because I was looking through my logs and noticed some errors that would only be caused by it.

Some text only browsers on *nix machines may not work real well with that... I haven't experienced anything like that though. Could it be the way you wrote it? Some syntax error that IE could figure it out, and NS couldn't?

What kind of errors? I can't think of a browser which doesn't support BASE HREF unless you have an impossibly old browser (like 2.0!)

My 2 Cents (or is that 2.2 Cents including GST?)

well I was using it because of this:

the way my site is I have it coded so search engines will index it even though its dynamic. A url looks like this.

    view.php3/1984/12

Now without a base_href tag a browser sees the links like this.

    view.php3/1984/privacy.php3

I've never seen the problem before now but it happened to one guy. I just hard coded all my links so I don't need the base href now.
