    Hi,

    I am currently working on a project for an organisation, and I am having problems with the design.

    Some of the images on all the pages won't load. I am using some rollover effects for the buttons, could that be the reaon?

    Here's the link: http://www.httpcity.com/123hyperlink...ult_2_ENG.html

    Any help will be appretiated!

    The images won't load for me either. You need to make sure you have the image locations all correct. The primary images will show, but not the rollovers. Just check your code on the images and see if somehow there's a typo or something. Other than that..LOOKS GREAT!

    Hi Lars,

    Had a quick peek at your code. The rollover script you're using is fine. I think it's the relative linking of your graphics that is the problem.

    There are 3 ways to link your graphics .
    1) Relative to the file they are in. (The way you are doing it now - 'nav/logo_Maskiner_2.gif')
    2) Absolute links , such as 'http://www.website.com/folder/graphic.gif'
    3) Relative to the Root as in '/123hyperlinks/nav/logo_Maskiner_2.gif'

    The third kind is the one I think will solve your problem.

    No matter where in your site they are used, 'root relative links' always use the root directory of your site (www.website.com/) as their starting point.

    The advantage of this is you can use the identical piece of code to call graphics, javascripts, etc from any page in any folder in your site.

    To use root relative links just start with the absolute link (http://www.website.com/folder/graphic.gif)
    and chop off everything BEFORE the first '/' (/folder/graphic.gif)

    I find it simplifies thing greatly.

    By the way. The Javascipt that you are linking to in the header didn't seem to have anything in it when I checked it. Might as well dice it.

    Lars ::

    Here's a very useful tip that will help you alot.
    make use of this tag.

    <base href="http://domain.com">

    The possibilities are endless, but I'll explain a few of the advantages.

    1) You don't need to add full links, and hence smaller size of pages.
    2) When using relative links together with <base> tag, you don't need to worry about pages in secondary folders..like
    http://domain.com/folder/index.htm getting their images from http://domain.com/folder/images/filename.gif etc.

    Because, with this base tag, all links are directed to http://domain.com

    I have no idea if I got this to you clearly....so if you have any doubts, feel free to ask. This tip has definitely kept me well ahead in linking nay kind of documents etc. anywhere in my web directory.

    I Just realised something..
    If some of your images are working, and others ain't, and they are linked to the same place with the same folder, what could be the problem?

    Did you upload your images in BINARY mode?

    I'll don't know... Httpcity.com doesn't show if the files were uploaded in binary. I'll upload it tomorrow on another server, and check binary.

    Well, Httpcity doesn't allow FTP, and my Internet connection is kind of weird, so FTP isn't an option for me.. Sadly! You can dig into the code if you want to.

    Hmm..So its all web-based uploads eh?
    Then it should be binary

    Did you try re-uploading the images again?
    Alright. I'll look into the code.

    I'll need these information:

    Folder of which images are in.
    Main URL of index page of the site

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Okie. I've loked thorugh your entire code, made modifications here and there, but the images were still broken.

    Now, I went to check the validity of your images which were broken by going to:

    http://www.httpcity.com/123hyperlink...o_Maskiner.gif

    for example and it produced an Error 404.
    Now it is so clear that its not the code thats causing the problem. The images is not even in that folder.

    Solution: go upload your images properly and make sure they are in the correct folder.
    If it doens't work, try on another server.
    If the images are there, try getting another onmouseover script.

    Code:
    <html>

    <head>
     <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
     <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-gb">
     <title>The Graphical Workshop - English Version</title>
     <style fprolloverstyle>A:hover {color: #CC6600}</style>
