    One Database or Two ...

Apolgies in advance if this isn't quite the right forum to place this question in, but I've got a query regarding the number of databases that I require for my site.

I've got my hosting with lunarpages and I get a mySQL database with that, which I was going to use to handle the content of my site. However, I've been thinking about installing phpBB to create a forum. The problem is, however that the forum will need to use a database too.

Therefore my choice seems to be to use one database to hold the content of my site as well as the forum ... or to buy another database at $1 a month.

Ideally I'd like to just try and use the one database, but I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether:
    1. Whether this is possible
    2. Whether this is sensible
    3. If I'd need to configure the database in any special way

Thanks alot for all your help

You can put all of it in one database. It is perfectly sensible unless you fear that your database size will grow out of hand. The only thing you might want to do is preface all your table names so they stay together in the listing if you use phpmyadmin. phpbb will preface theirs and so they all group in the alphabetical sorting.
