Hmmm...the tracker is saying 541 clicks for yesterday. But Google just says 381...any reason why? Is the difference in clicks, clicks on PSA's?

id like to see in future versions the optional filtering of clicks that are on the same advertiser very close together. I get strings of 2 or 3 clicks on the same ad within seconds of each other sometimes..I will assume google doesnt count those (as my tracker count is way more than google)

I've been watching this thread for the very reason that just came up. People noticing differences in what the tracker says and what Google says. Google ALWAYS being the one that shows less.

Now, this might be from timezones. I'm in EST (I assume the script bases off of my server's time, haven't checked though) and Google runs PST I think. So some clicks show up on today instead of yesterday for me.

But, I too have been noticing that the tracker count is higher, and I'm slightly bothered by this. Anyone else have any thoughts on why?

I noticed at one point yesterday I got 3 clicks within 3 seconds. Google only counted one of them. That makes sense to me. Also, if you're off by just one or two, the script counts a right click or a click and release without actually goign to Google as a click.

But otherwise, well, we've always suspected Google of underreporting.

My tracker shows twice the number of clicks as compared to google!!

i think this is a fantastic tool to give us an insight into whats happening without blindly accepting...

Post the URL where you're running it and maybe I can figure out why?

Rob had the tracking code before the adsense code. It *HAS TO* come after, or else the adsense iframe doesn't exist for it to track yet.

Ahh, my first official mail from Google. It simply states that I will be contacted regarding my use of Google Brand Features. Needless to say, I faxed my official request to use the AdSense name today (they have a form for that, of course). Hopefully they won't get evil on me and kill this free tool's distribution.

So what 'google brand feature' are you using in the reporting script?
Or does that mean using their brand name in your domain?
    Confusing..

I would assume they're referring to the multiple instances of "Google AdSense" and "Google" on the site and in its domain. I hope they're good guys over at the marketing department where I sent my request.

I think you need at least one section and one set defined (and update your JS afterwads) even if you don't use those parts for it to work. I'm really waiting on Google's response to my site before I work on anything more.

Is this released under an opensource license? Would it be acceptable to integrate it into a gpl project?

Since I implemented your script Dan, my google stats haven't been (since March 4) updated.

Do you think that can be reason?

Did you password protect the directory that "tracker.php" is in?
