    Hi
I am doing a small db that has date, archive, time, category and message. When the web page is opened, a php app will check the date and archive. if the archive is "no" then the date is checked and if less than current_date +30 then the category will be retrieved and printed in alphabetical order.

The viewer then clicks a category to select articles meeting the criteria above in a date ordered format. Now for the question.

When a date is past and the archive is no, I want to change the flag to "yes" in the programming at the end of the first step.

    Do you see any problems?

I see no problems, but why not just have all your entries start with Archive set to 'Yes'? Perhaps I don't quite understand your application.

    Hi Kevin,

    That makes so much sense.

If it is not archive now it will be in 30 days, outside.

    thanks again

Sometimes it just takes someone who has no idea what you're trying to do.
