diference between PostgreSql & MySql

i just wanted to know how diferent is postgreSql to mySql.
for example, lets take kevins very famous article on php & sql. would it be possible to literally use that article for posgreSql withou any changes?
is it true that posgreSql is much more complex & robust?

All of the SQL query syntax would be the same, but the administration would be different. So if you found a way to do tasks such as 'create table' in PgSql (and the rest of those types of queries) you could use the code and queries he listed.

You might need to change a tiny bit more. Of course, you'd use pg_connect and pg_command instead of mysql_connect....

i've heard about needing drivers for stuff like phorum so that i can work with PgSql...
how would that work?
is it like that for the rest?
