    I know this is probably something simple, but I just cant seem to get my favicon to show up in the browser next to the URL. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this one? It's drivin' me nutz!!

    The site in question is: http://www.revmedia.com and I attached the favicon file. Any help appreciated!

    Place the following between the <head></head> tags of your documents:
    Code:
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon">

    Thanks I added that in but I still see a problem. I think it's the actual way that the icon was generated - if I drag the link to my desktop, I get a sort of blurry version of the right icon.

    If I view the files in the site through Windows Explorer, it shows the correct small size icon. In the browser, still nothing! Is the icon file not formed properly?

    thanks again - Dave

    I believe with newer versions of Internet Explorer, if the website is not bookmarked then the icon won't appear.

    favicons are notoriously finicky about showing up in IE, even though it was MS that created them and the concept.

    You may see your favicon in some IE sessions, but not in others. In my experience, Mozilla shows them really well while you're at a site, but won't keep them.

    I'm seeing yours right now no problem in Firefox, though.

    works fine in NN7 ... its just a glitch in IE why you're not seeing it.
