    lynlimz, spacer gifs in tables are mainly to regulate the height of the cell. Like you said, with widths you can always try and get by with   but that just doesn't work with small heights in table cells.

    True, to make it simple: alt="" defines to nothing on a text-browser, but if there is none, it shows up as [IMAGE] or [filename.gif].

    So it is definitely useful to use it.
