The both have different uses at different times.Originally Posted by freak
Both are extremely functional.
Fireworks MX 2004 is the only version to use.

Fireworks MX is outstanding for web work. I have both, but most of the buttons and layouts happen in FW. This may just be that I've spent more time in FW, so I'm more comfortable there...I can get done faster, and it integrates so well with DW.
I prefer Photoshop. It is very very powerfull. However Fireworks is also very good it is just I haven't used it as much and I know a lot more about photoshop on a whole.
I would like to learn more about fireworks in the future.
Your best bet would be to use both. Then you get the best of both worlds. I expect the results would be great.
I clicked photoshop by misstake I meant to click both.

I use both, I haven't use either latest versions of the softwares but I use Photoshop for more graphic oriented design and Fireworks for more vector oriented tasks.

I'm too lazy to learn firework even though it came bundled with MX studio. Everything I need to do I can do in PhotoShop, and more importantly I already know how to do it. No time lost learning how to do something in Fireworks.
Maybe on that glorious day when I have free time I'll sit down and play with fireworks.![]()
