CSS display on a Mac
Hi,
Still working on this site. On PC I haven't heard of or seen in problems, but I have had two Mac users tell me that this page looks wrong. I believe they said Opera 6 and IE 5.2, the third (a web novice) has no idea what her browser is.
<edit: site url removed>
the reports are that the columns are not positioning correctly. They are jumbled up on the left side of the page.
Can anyone help? I don't have access to a Mac and it looks fine on PC so I don't know what's wrong with the code (and can't test it - augh!)...
thanks

Hi Toni,
I don't have access to a mac so I can't help there but I can fix it for opera6 on the pc.
Opera 6 doen't like applying right to a positoned element unless it has a width. It doesn't like the margin top and bottom that you've set for the colfooter either. So change the 2 styles as follows:
Code:#colright { position: absolute; top: 0; right: 0; text-align: left; margin: 0; width:190px; } #colfooter { margin-top:175px; }
I've checked it in ie6 and mozilla/firebird, opera6 and 7 and it looks ok. (Who knows it might sort the mac out as well.)
There is a free mac capture here:
http://www.danvine.com/icapture/
but it only checks in safari now ( it used to check ie5 mac as well). It looks ok in safari.
Hope that helps.

Toni,
The right hand column is not floating as you want, instead it is sitting directly on top of the left column that starts with Cakes. I do not have Opera 6, but it views this way in IE 5.2.
In Safari, Netscape 7.1 and Firebird 0.7 it shows like you want with Cakes Column on the left and Event and Floral on the right.
I am not sure what you would need to do to fix the problem since I'm still learning CSS.
Hope this helps,
John

Paul - Thanks for your help! It looks fine now in Opera 6 (for Windows). Also, the iCapture link is invaluable to me. I really appreciate it.
