    Question Send SMS using PHP.

    How to send sms using PHP through GSM modem, source code is appreciated.

    No idea, but I would guess you would need to interface with a specialist SMS bit of kit, as I doubt it can be done purely with code.

    I'm not 100% sure what you're asking....

    But aren't all cell phones asigned an email address for SMS?

    ex: 3015551234@attwireless.net

    You could just use the mail() function.


    In college, I had a .forward file in my email account that forwarded a copy of all my emails to my cell phone via SMS. Worked great.

    PHP is a web scripting language. I doubt that it can interface directly with GSM modems on it's own. Methinks you are better off with a web service like www.ClickaTell.com.

    Maybe my question was not clear enough for u all.
    My problem is how to write out the PHP code, if I wanna inform ppl through sms.
    Now, I got the GSM modem with me, but the problem is I have no idea to write out the code.

    PHP cannot interface with hardware on it's own. You'll need some kind of plugin or extension, most likely written in C.

    You could proberly do it with Java as well. Sun Microsystems has made a major effort in this area. It's the Mobile version of Java you'd be looking for no ?

    But C is cool as well though
