I know this doesn't really have anything to do with Java but I don't know where else to ask.

    Here's the problem:
    - My JDK files (javac, javadoc, etc) are located under C:\jdk1.3\bin\ but all my .java files are located under C:\java\lab1\.

Is there some kind of a batch file I could write so that when I type javac under C:\java\lab1\ it finds the javac under C:\jdk1.3\bin\?

I wrote a batch file javac.bat with the following in it's body:
    Code:
    C:\jdk1.3\bin\
But when I run it it completely disregards what I type after the javac and it just gives me the error message to specify more details (options, name of .java file, etc).

    Any ideas?

Add C:\jdk1.3\bin to your path in autoexec.bat.
    set PATH="%PATH%;C:\jdk1.3\bin"
