    Hi

Can you provide more information with the question?

By upload, I think you may be talking about ftp. Is this right?

Maybe an upload through the browser using php?

    Need more details.

    Thanks Ed

For script 1 you'll be able to do it with php file functions.

This is of course after you've

    1. Retained a lawyer to protect you from any lawsuits from potential viruses and trojans that could be spread using this, as well as against people claiming you facilitate piracy.

    2. Figured out a way to make sure are the files are what you want them to be. You cannot judge simply on name and extension alone

    3. Figured out how to pay for all the bandwidth that uploading and downloading files uses up.

In other words. I don't know what you plan on doing but there are alot of bases to cover if you plan on offering any kind of file uploading/downloading/storing service.

    For script 2 its simple.

Make a DB for all the links. Let people vote. You'd store each vote in the DB as a separate record. Use IP address as a unique key. Then when reporting the tally run the SUM function on all the records where link_id = $id

the way i'm planning to do it is

    a) run it through an online virus checker (any suggestions)
    b) not sure about checking for the file type...it will be either a sv4 or td4 file
c)i have 30gb of bandwith, and i'm not expecting HUGE takeup of the service

    ..?
