    <a name

I want to use <a href="abc.html#abc"> and <a name="abc"> to link to several places on the same page but simply putting <a name="abc"> on the page wont validate but dont want to put the <a> tag around any text because i dont want the text to behave like a link.

Does anyone have a solution ?

    Thanks

    Azaar

Even simpler to attach it to an existing element, like:
    HTML Code:
    <h3 id="abc">Subtitle</h3>
