    php search engine

Question. Has anybody use this PHP search engine?

    http://www.hansanderson.com/php/search/

If so, can someone be so kind and help me to install it?

I've read readm me file, but my knowledge of php is minimal so a lot of things I simply do not understand ...

    Huge thanks!

Sure, what are having problems with?
Although I would recommend using a different search/index engine as this one IMHO requires things that may not be possible on normal web accounts (which I suppose you use). You could try out phpdig.net which is quite popular (and still in development, the one you chose was updated the last time in 2001) and the installation and configuration should be easier.

Hi and thanks for your reply!

The reason I kind of chose this search engine, is because there is no involvment of data bank (so I read?). The phpdig uses MySQL and this is something which I have (sorry once again!) no idea of.

If you have the time than I would greatly appreciate your help or perhaps you know of a better solution...?

    Thanks in advance!

You may like to take a look at Zoom search engine.
    http://www.wrensoft.com/zoom/

I've been using it on one of my sites for the last couple of months and the support is second to none...

    Just an idea

I like phpdig, etc but they use too much CPU/mem. Any ideas on how I could slow down the processes, etc?
