I HAVE to share this with someone...We run a national marketing arm for a connectivity provider, and we are physically located in the redneck capitol of backwoods Texas. We also advertise in the local phone book, so we get a reasonable amount of local calls for dial-up (the FASTEST connection available in our area, (unless you want to pull a T1, or portion thereof).
Anyway, I got a call, a lady saying that she wanted DSL, I asked for her area code, to start the availability check, and she gave me the local one, I asked which town she lived in (there are no cities). She gave me the name, and I advised her that there is no DSL available in that town. She then said that her son had a SEGA game, and that they could get the Internet through it, so she wanted service. I explained that we could provide her with dial-up access, and she said, "well, that's what I told you already, and you said you didn't have it". I explained that there was a difference between DSL and dial-up. We went through the sign-up. About 30 minutes later, I got a phone call from the same person, very irate. She could not log on. We went through the steps, we checked that her account had propagated, we tried everything, nothing worked. Then I thought about the SEGA keyboard. I asked her what she was doing for the @, and she said that since she didn't see one, she was SPELLING IT OUT!!!!!!

But the Sega keyboard looks pretty standard on the Sega website. Are you saying the Sega keyboard doesn't have an '@' symbol?

What does the @ sign have to do with connecting? Do you have to sign on using your full email adress or something?

When you are setting up a new Internet access account, you must enter some info, so that the computer can do it automatically from then on.

I have setup internet access accounts many times and have never ever had to use the @ sign. The only thing I have used the @ sign in setting up was the "From" email address in Outlook.
