You can see Costco's rates and fees here:

    http://www.costco.com/frameset.asp?t...dit%2Easp&log=

I've been using them for a while now with no problems. I can also accept Amex and Discover in addition to MC and Visa, which some accounts make it hard to do.

Just don't buy your machine from them--I got mine on eBay for way less than Costco was selling it for.

You will need an electronic gateway for processing online. AmEx fees are usually about 3.5% & Discover varies as to how much you are processing.

Sorry, I thought you were asking about bricks 'n mortar charges.

But you'll probably want a machine if you want to run charges yourself--for example, if somebody wants to call you to place an order instead of doing it online.

I don't think Costco has plan with payment gateways, do they?

Actually what you need is called a virtual machine - one that is on the internet. You will not want a terminal in your business. If you are on online reteller, that would be a waste of money.

Their website only speak of telephone & mailorder & nothing about an internet account. I would think (hope) they would offer it.

somewhere on the costco site i saw 'internet processing available' or something like that. i'm not a costco member so i'll try and find that out for sure first if i decide to go that way. wouldn't they setup the gateway too? or would i have to get that on my own?

biggazillakilla - so you have a retail location not a website? or do you use the terminal to process manually?

    anyone know anything about paymentech.com?

They should - but check it out before. The gateway might cost you $50 a month - thus not worth it.
