    Text Box issue with CSS

    HI all,

    I have inherited a site. It relies heavily on CSS. I am still fairly new to CSS. My problem is I have an input text box with a class assigned to it. In IE everything looks and works fine. However in Mozilla or Firebird, when someone inputs text only the top half of the text shows up. Below is the style sheet. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks.

    /* Begin Style Sheet */
    .input {
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 10px;
    height: 14px;
    width: 88px;
    color: 6F5F30;
    padding-left: 2px;
    background-color: #CAB886;

    }
    /* End Style Sheet */

    Hi,

    Try giving your page a valid doctype.
    Code:
    HTML 4.01 Strict, Transitional, Frameset
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Frameset//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/frameset.dtd">

    XHTML 1.0 Strict, Transitional, Frameset
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Frameset//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-frameset.dtd">
    One of those above should do

    You should probably go for this one if you are unsure.
    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    Note that this may change the look of other items on your page.

    Paul

    Or just change the height of the element to 18px instead
    Code:
    .input {height:18px}
