    Table problem

    When I minimise my window on this page - http://www.mattgoss.biz/diary/ - the table jumps to below the menu. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this? There should be enough room for the table, same happens on the photo galleries also.

    Hi,

    In IE6 when you resize the window smaller the table jumps down to the bottom of the menu float.

    The reason for this is that at the point the cells in the table are all full (as in the header Monday,tuesday etc) then the browser tries move the content below the float to allow the element to take up its full width etc. However as you have set a margin-left then it can't go under the float but just down and still to the right.

    The solution could be to make the text smaller in the header although the effect will occur when the cells are full anyway.

    Or you could change the way that your menu is positioned.

    If you change your menu to absolute positioning then the table will just stay where it is.
    Code:
    #mainnav {
     position:absolute;
     width: 150px;
     left:0;
    }
    Of course it does depend on what else is going below the menu and you will have to take care to position it correctly. (This method won't work if you are wanting to use a full length footer unless the menu is always to be smaller than the content.)

    There are probably other solutions but thats the first I could think of

    same happens on the photo galleries also.
    The photos seem to be outside the content div and therefore have no margin-left.
