    Which version of XHTML in anycase the 'id' attribute is mandatory for XHTML fragement identifiers because it should be served as an application of XML.

    For example: <a id="num" name="num"> for Transitional 1.0. <a id="num"> for XHTML Basic 1.0, for example: http://www.xhtmlcoder.com/beck/
