Expert Needed! clipping with IE5 vs Netscape6

Hello... I have <DIV> tag layers on a web page....These layers are hovering above nearby web page elements (buttons, image maps, etc..) The sizes of these <DIV> layers are large enough to obscure the web page elements...but thankfully, I can use clipping to keep the "live areas" away from the elements...but IT'S NOT WORKING IN NETSCAPE 6.

THE <DIV> Layers are successfully being clipped in Netscape, too, but for some reason, the invisible portions of the layers are still being "seen" by the browser, and won't let me click on the underneath elements.

What the heck's going on here? Do you know this prob? Help. Bob

Is the page online so we can see it?

Instead of clipping, why not resize the element? Is it being positioned with javascript or css?

Does the element have "position:absolute" css?

NN6 was buggy... there's an upgrade available. Do you really need to support v6? Do you get the same problem in the latest Mozilla?
