Dingbat Font Viewer

Not being artisticly inclined (I battle to draw straight lines) I have happily cottoned onto the idea of using Dingbat Fonts when creating graphics, as I saw in a recent article.

My only problem now is finding decent software with which to view the contents of the dingbat fonts I have already accumulated. I use the extended character map but it's renditions are very small (unless you check out each character individually) and it only works for installed fonts.

Can any of you guys recommend some (prefereably free) software that I can use to display the various characters of fonts stored on a hard drive or CD-Rom, but not installed?

I ran searches on Download.com, TuCows, and Winfiles.com, all with no results.

Just yesterday, I made a "dingbat collection" with all the symbol fonts I have. It's huge, and I am sure there are several thousand dingbats in it. If you want it, email me at aidan@spotster.net and I'll send it to you

You could try looking on http://www.dingbatpages.com/ they just might have a utility??? Else they are a great resource for dingbat fonts

I personally use a freeware tool called "The Font Thing"

Not only does it allow you to review your fonts but you can load and unload fonts on the fly so you don't have to install fonts you will only use once.
