I'm doing a little web design work for a company and they're willing to pay me on a monthly basis to maintain paid listings in search engines for them.

What I am looking for is your opinion on which paid-placement search engines are the best (bid per keyword). I think it'd be best to go with the "use your money faster" ones - my client is looking for some fast traffic to his site as the site will be bringing in most of HIS clients.

So which should I go with? The only one I'm sure is worth it is Goto.com as my own experiences show that they can deliver the traffic quite quickly, and his site isn't a real mainstream topic so the keywords should be relatively cheap. What others?

    Thanks.

Obviously, goto.com is very effective. And if you spend sime time looking and playing around, you should be able to find some relatively inexpensive keywords.

In my experience, I've also found that 7search.com is dirt cheap and good for about 15 visitors a day.. and sprinks.com as well.

Thanks for the reply, worried I wouldn't get any at all since this post has been here a while.

The keywords this client is interested in, many of them, I can secure him a top 5 listing for a penny or two at GoTo.com. Beyond that, I think I'll take your advice on 7search and/or Sprinks. Targeted traffic is exactly what he needs, not just huge amounts, because this is a business site - not advertising based.

Take a look at http://www.payperclicksearchengines.com . They have a listing of 56 pay per click search engines and reviews for many of them. I've found it very helpful and a way to get some cheep traffic.

I would definitely go with GoTo.com - they're certainly one of the most popular and widely used of the pay per click engines.
It's getting to be a well known site across the net, which is better than going with a site that is cheaper but no-one's heard of.
    Good Luck!

yeah, goto is the biggest, but, it may be a bit too expensive, depends on ur budget. so some of the other ones may suit ur needs, budget, better.

Goto is the biggest and the best, no doubt. Just make sure you keep close tabs on your position and bid amount. You can use a free tool like the one at my site to help.

To expand on this topic, could someone point me to pay-per-ranking sites used by those in the UK?

    Thanks in advance.

"Use which pay per placement engines?"

If you are paying, why not try to use them all?

http://bidonclicks.com is a very neat service.

Check it out if you have not already.

As per UK, all I know is that GoTo.com now has a presence there.

    Hope that helps.

GoTo UK provides the default results on Freeserve, the largest UK ISP. Also worth a try is http://www.splut.com which brings a steady stream of traffic. I've tried lots of keywords on Godardo but get little traffic from it.

The Bid on Clicks tool doesn't seem to be working, at least not for me.

scslawin I am bookmarking this page, because I need the exact tool you have for my listings. I'm just waisting my time with those listings, a penny up or a penny down. I don't have time now to see if your tool is affective, but I'll give a try very soon. Thanks!
