    font sizes

What font sizes are you supposed to use for "font-size" - so they don't interfere with users changing their font sizes, etc. Just "ems" and "..., small, medium, large, ..."?

BTW, are ems supposed to be expressed in decimals? 0.5ems, etc.

You can use ems, percentages, or absolute keywords (like "small", "large", etc.). That way, IE/Windows users can change their default size, unlike text set in pixels or points.

And yes, you set ems in pixels, or whole numbers.

Most browsers are capable of resizing text that is in pt or px size - however, this does not include Internet Explorer for Windows
