Collecting email addresses for my site

Im pretty new to this, I know html pretty well and I just wanted to give our customers an option to subscribe to our mailing list. I just want to be able to check in every week or so and grab the addresses and upload them to our database.

I just want a script that reads something like "want to be on our mailing list? Enter your info below. Or something like that. I don't care about collecting their names just the e-mail. I don't want any security risks either though and I don't want unauthorized people to get their hands on the emails.

I just was going to find a script and then upload it to the server and then just do a virtual include on one of my .shtml pages. That would be easiest for me since I am very new to this whole thing. (note: I am still reading up on it though and hope to get a better grasp on it within the coming days)

I go through a seperate online company to do my mailings, so the only thing I care about is getting the emails, i can take it from there.

Those scripts should provide installation guides, why don't you try one? Then you can post if you have any problems.

    Okay, i downloaded http://www.thedemosite.co.uk/email_list/

I still don't understand how to install it.
When I edit my website I go through WS_FTP and upload files, etc. I don't know what this installation is talking about.

Use a different script as this one requires register_globals on which really isn't a good idea.

Can I just stick this into one of my pages on my website? (how?)
Where does it store the emails so that I can retrieve them?

    Try Dada Mail

    Try Dada Mail:

    http://dadamail.org

    ( I'm the developer )

If you are having trouble installing it, there is an installation service:

    http://mojo.skazat.com/installation/request.html

    Cheers,
