    Sidebar wont stay put

how can i make a sidebar stick to one spot on the page, and kind of "float" there even while the rest of the page is scrolled? Ive been searching all the DOM refrences and DHTML tutorials i can find, and i have no idea how to accomplish this.

The answer is to use Position: fixed (http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS2/visuren.ht...ed-positioning)

The problem is that IE's "support" for it is a disaster.

The page beetle linked used to contain some sort of hack to get it working in IE6 - but as you point out, the page is busted.

There's a couple of pages describing a similar hack over here:
    http://devnull.tagsoup.com/fixed/
    http://devnull.tagsoup.com/fixed/horizontal.html

thanks a lot man, and for the record, the comments about IE are great, and perfectly on-target.
