Need help w/ getting more members!!!

    Hi all!

My cousin and I just stat this site/forums about 1 month + ago. We offer lots of things such as free submitting link to our directory, free guestbooks, free forums, Free automatic traffic generating system, and banner exchage system. Besides that on the forum, we even install a journals/blogs and trivia shock games for forums's members.
What else should I do inorder to get more members for the site/forum ???
Any suggestion will help. Thxn in advance.

    Question Target audience?

Do you have a target audience for your site?

You may wish to consider it if you don't. For example, Sitepoint is targeted towards the Web develpment/design community, yet there are thse topics plus a lot more. Finding a niche may help drive traffic towards it. And when I say niche, that could still mean thousands of users.

    Post Value

There are many general portals on the Web, thus you have a very wide list of competitors.

When people look to a portal, or anything on or off the Web, they want value. What is their incentive for visiting multiple times? What can they get there that they can't from elsewhere? Where it's easy to setup a site, like all systems, the brunt of the cost is in the maintenance and ongoing support.

You may want to sit down with your cousin and put together a plan. My suggestion is that you find a niche and exploit it. Just like someone else here who was trying to get traffic to a gaming forum, there were many ideas that were presented to meet the possible interests of gamers. When you're targeting everyone, it's much harder.

    Good luck!

Not sure I can help with the membership angle, but did want to compliment you on the layout and features of the site. Very nicely put together. I may have to borrow an idea or two.

Youve got a sweet design and lots of cool resources but you need some UNIQUE stuff for example tutorials.

Also do some link exchanges with people, this will help your Search Engine traffic
