    What do I recommend?

I recommend getting over to http://www.movieforums.com/ - great movie banter .

Apart from that, I liked X-Men, Snatch, Gladiator, and (honestly) Blair Witch Project II - apart from the first 10-15 minutes which were a little too "trendy" for my liking :yawn.

I agree with the opinion that Charlies Angels was a stink-o-rama.

    Hi folks,

I usually wait for the video. But my youngest grandson had never been to a movie so I went with the three kids to see The Emperor's New Groove. It was a matinee. Cineplex. 6 th or 7th row. Center. Kids all over. Noise. Restrictions: Don't destroy the place or each other. Loved it.

    peace

"The Emperor's New Groove" is one of the funnier Disney movies for us older folk (over 8, that is. )...Spade probably had some input into the jokes...funny stuff.

I've seen 5 movies in the last 11 days - I'm loving it.

My favorite movie of all time is Braveheart, nothing can compare.

I just recently saw The Family Man, Cast Away, and What Woman Want.

What Woman Want: Suprisingly I liked it, it was very very funny, and touching.

The Family Man: Good, I expected a different ending, but it was good.

Cast Away: Good as well. I think Wilson should atleast be nominated for best supporting actor. I also wanted more from the end at this one.

I suppose with Cast Away and The Family that they were such good stories I didn't want the story to end, in both I wished the story kept going, but obviously movies can only be so long.

I really want to still see Dungeons and Dragons. I haven't heard anything about it but I do like Jeremy Irons and I like the genre, and the effects look spectacular.

I'm also eagerly anticipating Pearl Harbor, Final Fantasy, and The Lord Of the Rings.

The Lord of the Rings! That's going to be amazing - opens 11 months from now, and they'll be showing trailers within 2 weeks! Talk about hype.

Oh, and thanks for the link, Ollie.

LOL at the Wilson comment - someone on my forums said the *EXACT* same thing.

I just got Gen-X-Cops for my roommate for Christmas and have actually watched it one and a half times myself. Corny as heck at times, but a fun waste of a couple hours.

I've said it before, American History X is a great movie! As far as issues-based movies go, one of the best all-around. The cinematography, IMO, was interesting (but then, I'm no film major) and the topic was covered provocatively, rather than the glossed-over, pc treatment often given. On top of all that, the story is actually interesting. But if you are looking for a feel-good movie, this ain't it.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is Fire in the Amazon, which I unfortunately rented this weekend. I normally like Sandra Bullock, but this was a horid movie! And it barely brought up issues before dropping them, in favor of some really bad dialogue or bad action sequence. Someday someone will make an interesting movie about the rainforest and the different groups with a stake in its fate, but this wasn't it.

heh ill admit gen x cops is kinda corny
and the dubbing leaves something to be desired(I have the VCD).
On the umm other side I rented US Marshalls this weekend partly because my videostore had likeno more copies of any of the good new releases. It was an interesting movie lol, its ok IMHO.=)

I was wondering about "Fire in the Amazon" because I had never heard of it, but I saw it at Blockbuster this past weekend. Thanks for saving me the rental fee.
