frames and php

Hi,
i am newbie to PHP. i am creating a website that contains two frames. the first frame (which is in left hand side) contains a drop down menu. the second frame is just empty. what i am trying to do is that if i want to select one of the options in the drop down list it will open/run a PHP script in my other frame. i know how to do this if i wanted to open a html file in the second frame but i run in to problems when i want to open a php script.

can anyone help?
