    It's supposedly 'an embarrassed laugh'.

Hmmmm.......... You would have thought it was pink if it was embarrassing.....

I'm surprised, always thought people like us (and you, kind reader, if you have the pleasure of being one of us), were all Tolkien-geeks, as most of my "online" friends are.

It never occurred to you that Elledan Dunedain is one of the names of Aragorn in Tolkien's Lord-Of-The-Rings ?

(don't take me very seriously, as it is 3:30am there and i'm not sure that Elledan was actually the name of Aragorn. but Dunedain ringed a bell to me.)

I've never read any Tolkien. That one would have slipped right by me.

    Dunedain

    yeh I noticed that too
but elledan had nothing to do with it!

but dunedain was the name of his people as well, and he was the dunedain, or the king, kinda thing

Yup, Dunedain is the last name of Aragorn

I'm a bit of a Tolkien freak, I'm afraid. I'm reading 'The Lord of the Rings' for the fourth time now

I don't know many people here but here goes anyway:

freddydoesphp - this guy is an absolute legend in my eyes. He (or his cat anyway ) knows php like the back of his hand and has been extremely helpful to me on more than one occasion. Thank you very much

Kevin Yank - seems to know everything about programming and is also an excellent writer. I would love to know and understand as many programming languages as he does. I have thoroughly enjoyed his PHP/MySQL tutorial and his writing style is excellent. Also seems to have a lot of discipline and focus as he was able to complete such a long and comprehensive tutorial. That must have involved a lot of work!

Wayne Luke - seems to know a lot about everything to do with computers. Seems very helpful and his posts are usually a very interesting read.

qslack - Quinn, like Wayne Luke seems to know everything about everything to do with computers. Quinn seems very helpful and has a good sense of humour

JohnM - John hasn't posted much at these forums but I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for helping me learn php. When I was learning php, he helped me out a lot with php over ICQ

Elledan - a great guy to chat with and an excellent arguer. Also has a good sense of humour

PeterW - a bit like wluke and qslack, Peter also seems to know a lot about every aspect of computers. He has also helped me out with programming questions (especially c++)
