Hello.
I need people to review TweakPro.com. Please ignore the content, though. I know some of it is innacturate and won't stay. Also, since it hasn't enough content, I password protected it.
Site: http://www.tweakpro.com/
User: a
Password: a
Please review mainly the design, categories, colours and the like - but not the content.
TweakPro.com is in the future going to have plenty of Windows related tips and content.
Oh, and I'll give 1500 468x60 impressions to the best review for their time.
Thanks in advance!

// My Specs
- 1280 X 960
- Internet Explorer
- 56K Connection
1) Background is a bit dark, try a lighter blue, gray or even white.
2) You should really round off the corners a bit more.
3) The top is pretty large..and the computer looks too clip-artty
4) Change the font! Times New Roman is so...defaultVerdana and arial are some of my favorites.
5) Not sure if I like the bullets, how about only making a bolt for it?
Other then that, it's greatGood luck!

IE 5.0
640x480 resolution
Javascript On
56k connection
Windows 98
Your computer logo doesn't look quite right compared to the rest of the site. It really needs a sleeker, more realistic look to it. I love the wrench though, that's a neat idea. You might want to make the wrench look a bit more metallic though..at first I thought it was a key!
I really think you should change your font to Arial or Verdana, as the one your currently have looks very small, even on my resolution! Also, you should change your link color to white instead of black, otherwise its a bit difficult to read.
I like how you've done your table corners, that's an interesting approach, but you should make it consistent all the way around the layout. I notice, for example, that the top left corner doesn't have a piece "missing", and the lower right corner has a piece cut in the wrong direction.
I really like "tips and tweaks" and the small wrench bullets. You have an interesting design. Keep up the good work and learn from others to help enrich your site.
Best of luck!Sherice Jacob - Web Improvement Expert

Maybe you should use a different font throughout the page.
How about changing the menu links to have mouseovers or maybe you might even want images there if it doesn't effect your load time too much.
I really do think the layout has potenial.
After you get a new logo and you add better corners it should look a whole lot better. Don't get me wrong. It looks good so far.

Wow! Thanks! I will put them in action as soon as I have some time. Keep 'em coming. (I'll be on holiday from the 4th January on, so I'll choose the best one after I come back.)

I think the design is very good. Maybe you could make mouseovers for the menu though. That would be very nice looking, in my opinion.

I'll just sum up all the important posts so far:
- Mouseover for menu
- Different font
- Corners should all be the same (not sure about rounder) - they were meant to be like that.
- Computer logo should look more similar to the rest - change style.
- Lighter background
- Perhaps making bullets into bolts instead - not sure.
Thanks. I'll just let the thread go on, but I think those are the most important points.

Oops, I should clarify that I didnt mean for you to round the corners (I like them chopped like that. It looks computer-ish
) I just meant that every corner should be chopped in the right direction (like cutting the edges of a square).

Hi
I would like to add two things.
First, I like the layout of the site. Really neat, well ordered.
Second, and I know you would have found this anyhow.

<META keywords" content="keywords">
Best wishes for the site. Thanks for letting me view it.

edshuck: Thanks for telling me. It was all because of a search and replace action that didn't really work.
Sparkie: Thanks for saying you like it the way it is. Otherwise I would be unsure of what to do.

I think your website has a great design. The colors are great, although the bg color could be a little lighter. I think you need a little something to spice things up, other than that everything looks great. Keep up the good work!Check out my website: http://acoolworld.cjb.net

Try to stay away from Times New Roman. It looks to unprofessional. Some more colors would also help. Try to have something else that goes with blue. You menu would also look better in white. It’s too hard to read in black.

As far as the design goes it looks nice. The one thing that sticks out to me are your corners. To me they would look nicer if they had rounded edges. and the bottom bar which holds your copyright should extend all the way acroos to give things a more uniform look.
But besides those two minor things it looks great.

I also think you should change the font. In some sites like Yahoo, times looks good, but I dont think it suits your site too well.
Also, perhaps you could make the overall feel of the site a lighter?
Otherwise, I think the site looks goodAll you need now is lots of good content and the traffic will come streaming in

Nice design but I think it could be even better if you rounded off the corners, changed the font to verdana and got rid of the white lines between each link. I really like the spanner and the o but the computer looks like clipart and is too big. Also the advert doesn't show up but you might not have any adverts yet.

You said ignore the content, but there are broken links and top banner image. The site overall looks good, I like the color scheme, but reduce to smaller font size could be nicer. The logo on top left doesn't look interesting somehow. Anyway, very nice design.

I know you said not to review the content, but to start off... it's great...
Color Scheme- Great! Easy on eyes... good stuff!
Design- Good idea, might want to make tables rounded, and the top left corner did not have any type of diagonal graphic like the other corners... may want to look into that.
Loading time- Excellent!
Overall 88%

Here goes. Hope some of it makes sence.
On first view of the home page I notice that there is no 'tag line' to tell me, the user, why I should be here. AKA what's in it for me.
Second, and I know that you want subscribers but, you could use a search tool for the site. Some users like a instant route to what they are looking for. Currently I would have to browse the entire site to find the content relevent to my visit. And of course the best spot in the layout for this is where you have the subscribe box.
I like the layout it kind of reminds me of the old punch cards. Those other reviewers just didn't get it. Don't round off the corners. Great job with the breadcrumb at the top, and the action links at the top of feature stories.
I don't like the link color the same as the text. It is hard to spot the links when scanning the text. The site needs a little color in the main text area. Also try adding a little more cellpadding, 15 works good, to that area you'll be suprised at the results(readability).
Checking the HTML. You could cut down the file size a little by renaming spacer.gif to sp.gif and put it in the root directory. Everything else here looks good.Digit et al Design

Hello, I thought the layout of you site was quite good. I too liked the Wrench picture, and I didn't mind the computer at all. I thought it went well with the rest of the lettering in the banner. The homepage is simple and loaded quickly...I liked it.
