Really CJ? That's weird. My karma hasn't moved up or down in the last 24 hours, so it's probably just someone who really doesn't like you keeps pushing the negative karma button![]()

16 up again
This is really weird...

The people who have a lot of posts will affect your Karma a lot. I could add or subtract 13 karma from anyone whenever I want, simply because I have 1300+ posts.
I give out Karma a lot more than I take away Karma, so it couldn't me be
My Karma has gone up about 5 in the last week or so.
Actually its not...
The amount of Karma given or taken depends on the number of posts a member has..
Each member can give or take between 1 and 15 karma points. This was based on the suggestions given in a previous thread and was also outlined in that thread.
The formula works like this....
# of Posts / 100 rounded down = Karma Points if the member has less than 1500 posts.
If they have more than they give 15. Advisors and higher also do 15 in one block. This will allow karma to accrue or decrease according to a person's stature or reputation (whatever you want to call it) within the forums.
Now CJ, it looks to me that several of your posts have gathered some negative karma. Mainly because they can be negative. The way to improve this is to post less negative comments about others.
And you really need to start sucking up to the Advisors/Admins and the members with a LOT of posts (like TWTCommish and Aidan), that's where you'll really score points(Here's how it's done):
Wayne you're looking especially Buff today, have you been working out?
See, it's that simple. Make someone else feel good about themself, and they'll be happy to show their appreciation. (Either that or they'll see right through you're scheme and hit you where it hurts)
But seriously, the "feel good" attitude is probably what will help your karma count the most. People want the forums to have a positive air surrounding them.
Just my 2 cents.

okay I get it now
but a new header design should overwin a bad comment about anandtech really... And the world wouldn't be cool if everybody would be nice to eachother. Why do you think people watch Jerry Springer or all those stupid soaps?

Oh, thats how TWTCommish and Aidan do it. I already knew that.lol
I agree with you on the feel good attitude... not on sucking up. lol![]()

CJ: I think Wayne's point is not that you should try and act as if everybody here is your best friend, but that you can voice your opinions as you wish, everyone has the right to do that. He just thinks it should be done in a more civil way.
You can still disagree with other people, but do it in a fashion that isn't offensive to whoever you're talking to. I'm not laying blame, I havent seen many posts of yours that are offensive.. but i gatther other people feel differently.

Now I'm at -3 Karma...
Is there anything wrong with the Karma system? It's hard to believe that I lost 231 Karma points in only a couple of hours...

Well, CJ, if it helps at all, I've just given you some positive karma - for the header, of course - it wasn't for any post specifically related to it, but points are points.

That's sad to hear. I hope no one is abusing the system. Karma has a great potential, but if it's abused it'll be taken away from usOriginally posted by Elledan

That's weird Elledan. Maybe it's just a temporary problem? Really weird...
Thanks TWTback to my 2 stars

This is a message to the people who are fighting Karma Wars. You know who you are and you know what you are doing. Both of you have posted in this thread.
I suggest you take your animosity outside of these forums or both of you will be removed as active members.
That is my final say on this matter. If you have any further comments on this particular matter which is really outside of Karma and seems to be plain spitefulness, you can comment to me privately via email.
